A Possible Revival

Hello, all, 🙂

So, I’ve been thinking of reviving this, for quite some time now…

As I continue to ponder on that possibility, I set out to finally find a WordPress plugin for a Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart, that actually works.

I finally think I may have found it.

SI Captcha for WordPress, by Mike Challis, has so far met with all the preliminary tests. So, I’ll leave it up and we’ll see if it works or not. Of course, if it doesn’t, there may not be a way for you to tell me so, but then again, most of the people that might even read this know me personally, so what the hell, I’ll risk it… 😀

Cheers,
J.

This bot managed to sneak through 🙂

  4. Well, then, my Akismet catches went down from 50 a day to about 15 a week, which is about a 20-fold reduction, and my uncaught spam went down from about 2 a week to zero. That tells me two things:

    1) SI Captcha is working, which is great.
    2) There are spambots out there that can beat captcha, which is sucky, scary and amazing, all at the same time.

In any case, I’m going to have to learn to live with it as it is…

    Cheers,
    J.

  5. What great news, João! I’ve just came back to reference your nice impressions and ponderings about Rui’s 101 RPG and find out you’re thinking about reviving this nice blog.

Me and Rui have been blogging a lot more than you these days at Ideonauta. We’re trying to fill it with our ideas and musings. You should visit some day. We’re even rewriting/revising 101.

    Nice to have you back,

    João Mariano
