That's the thing about PTA, isn't it?

Be sure to check Smallville when you have the time; from what I've read so far, it's what PTA should be: http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=82573&affiliate_id=15975

Anyways, glad to see you're back to writing; can we catch up on stuff this August, if you're still Lisbon-ish?

Best,

Rui A.

Do you know what this means...

I have to play PTA again... but with a diferent mind set, maybe it will click for me again like the first time we played.

It's like Runebound all over again...

Hoy, :)

The game was smack full of heavy, heavy expectations from each player regarding what their character's story should be like, naturaly leading to many attempts at player-side railroading, some more effective than others.

Also, yeah, weird, unexpected play-before-play stakes were set.

Susana's post-game comments just happened to be more explicit than everyone else's, but I think it was happening globally...

Cheers,
J.

Hey-oh,

Just read the entire thing (comments included), great stuff regarding player motivation and all, but for me the most insightfull articles of the hole piece (so far) have been the ones regarding stake setting and player-side railroading.

I think that is one importante reason I've been disliking PTA so much ever since our awsome series of A-Team In Space. Each time we play I tend to go in there with a strong ideia of what I want my character story to be (diferent than want it to be about), wich crumbles drastically under the caos that is PTA scene framing (another reason I don't like the game so much).

Anyway, how do you connect those articles to our game? Aside from Susan remark?

All the best,
D.
